Look into Room 500

 Welcome to Room 500. Here is a peek into our classroom. I love bright colors and gathering places so you will see a lot of those two things in our room.

A view from the back of the room. You will notice the brightly colored foam mats. This is our gathering place if we are using the projector and needing to be in a group setting. 

 I love my reading carpet. This is our gathering place for read alouds and calendar time. It is also where the classroom library is!

Here is my Accelerated Reader board. We use accelerated reader at my school. I like it - I'm not in love with it. This is how I track progress for the kids. Each student had a boat. The masts are empty right now but as they progress to their goal the students will earn percentage flags. I'll post more about that later! 

Here is our magnetic word wall. These are basic sight words. We have covered some of them and others are just words that appear frequently in their writing. 

I LOVE Touch Math. It really is a great strategy for students to learn. This is our touch math board.
